How To Crochet The Poinsettia Granny Square Christmas Stocking

The Poinsettia Granny Square Christmas Stocking is crocheted by making 13 squares following the pattern for the poinsettia granny square.

When all granny squares are crocheted and the yarn tails are weaved in, it’s time to assemble the granny square stocking using the flat slip stitch join method.

Yarn For The Poinsettia Granny Square Christmas Stocking

For this granny square Christmas stocking Wool-Ease by Lion Brand Yarn is the suggested yarn to use.

However you can easily swap for any worsted weight yarn to achieve the same size, but it’s not wital.

The yarn comes in many solid color options as well as different color options that will give the final result a different look.

For this sample the timeless granny square stocking is made in typical red, green and whit, with a touch of yellow for the center of the flower.

Granny Square Stocking

Creating a Christmas stocking of your granny squares is a great way to assemble your granny squares.

For crochet stocking patterns the final size isn’t as important as when you crochet garments, so you can even skip the gauge swatch.

With a few granny squares you can easily adjust it to your own style.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?

How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?

Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.

It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.

All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.

Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.
