- Adjust the number of stitches so you have a even number on each row.
- Adjust the number of rows you crochet according to how tall your french press is. You may want narrower main color sections or add extra rows of the puff stitch stripe pattern.

Puff
*yarn over, pull up a loop*, repeat from *to* 3 times. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the crochet hook.
Crochet French Press Cozy Pattern Instructions
Main Rectangle
With CA ch 51 st.
Row 1 with CA: Work 1st linked treble crochet(ltr) st in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, ltr 1 in each chain until end of row, turn (=48 st)
Row 2 with CA: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 1 in each st from prev row, turn (=48 st).
Row 3 with CA: Ch 3, ltr 1 in each st from prev row, turn (=48 st).
Row 4-5 with CB: Rep row 2
Row 6 with CC: sc 1 in first st, no ch, *puff st 1 in next, sc 1 in next*, repeat from *to* until you have 1 stitch left, sc 1 in last st, turn (=48 st).
Row 7-8 with CB: Rep row 4-5.
Row 9 with CA: Rep row 3.
Row 10 with CA: Rep row 2.
Row 11-13 with CA: Rep row 9-10.
Row 14-18: Repeat row 4-8, changing colors the same way.
Row 19-21 with CA: Rep row 1-3.
Do not fasten off, continue with CA on edging.
Edging With Buttonholes
Without fastening off or turning your work, crochet an edging with buttonholes along the nearest short side of your work.
Single crochet evenly along the edge, approximately 3 sc per linked treble, 1 sc per sc and 1 sc per puff stitch row.
Edging Steps: Sc 3 st, ch 3*, sc 1 in same space as last sc, sc evenly along until you reach the middle of the short side, ch 3, sc 1 in same space as last sc, sc evenly along until you have approximately 2 sc left to crochet, ch 3, sc 1 in same space, sc 2 more stitches. (=approximately 48 st).
Fasten off & cut yarn.
*Adjust the size of your buttonholes by crocheting more or less chains. Test by moving the buttons you are going to use through the hole. If itโs too easy, make the holes smaller by chaining fewer chains. If itโs too tight, crochet more chains.
Short side edging without buttonholes
Make slipknot.
Edging: Crochet 34 single stitches evenly along the second short edge.
Fasten off & cut yarn.
Finishing & Assembly
Sew on buttons on the opposite side of the buttonholes you crocheted.
Fasten threads & weave in ends.
