The Striped Crochet Stanley Quencher Cozy is crocheted from the bottom up, first in turning rounds, then in rows.
The first few rounds are crocheted in single crochet and are made to fit where the Stanley Quencher is at it’s narrowest.
Then you will increase stitches for one round, before crocheting the final rounds.
After that you will crochet back and forth in rows, changing colors to create stripes.
The final two rows are crocheted to create the two-colored ties.

Stitches You Will Need
Foundation Single Crochet Stitch (FSC)
Step 1: Ch 2 st.
Step 2: Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Yo and pull through first loop (making “chain”). Yo and pull through both loops on hook.
Step 3: Insert hook into prev“chain” you made (It should look like you go through a resemblance of a “normal” st, with 2 strands of yarn), pull up a loop, yo and pull through first loop (making “chain”). Yo and pull through both loops on hook.
Repeat step 3 until you’ve made enough stitches.
*2nd ch in step 1 makes 1 st, step 2 makes 1st & every time step 3 is repeated you make 1 st.
Techniques You Will Need
Changing Color at the End of a Row
When working with different colors on different rows, you’ll never finish the last stitch on the last row with one color, with the color you where working with.
Do all the steps of the stitch, then leave the last step unworked. Yarn over with the color for the next st & pull yarn through.
Repeat this for every row you change colors to make the color changes look beautiful.

Work In Rounds With CA
Round 1: FSC 30, sl st in 1st st, turn (=30 st).
Round 2-5: Ch 1 (doesn’t count as a st), sc 1 in each st from prev round, sl st in 1st st, turn (=30 st).
Round 6: Ch 1 (doesn’t count as a st), *sc 2 in next st, sc 1 in the next 4 st*, repeat from *to* until end of round, sl st in 1st st (=36 st).
Round 7-9: Rep round 2 (=36 st).
Work Stripes In Rows
Row 1 with CA: Ch 1 (doesn’t count as a st), sc 1 in the next 33 st, turn (=33 st).
Row 2 with CB: Ch 1(doesn’t count as a st), sc 1 in each st from prev row, turn (=33 st).
Row 3 with CC: Rep row 2.
Row 4-5 with CA: Rep row 2.
Row 6-7 with CB: Rep row 2.
Row 8-9 with CC: Rep row 2.
Row 10-12 with CA: Rep row 2.
Row 13-15 with CB: Rep row 2.
Row 16-18 with CC: Rep row 2.
Row 19-22 with CA: Rep row 2.
Fasten off & cut yarn.
Ties
Row 1 with CB: Ch 25 st, sc 1 in each st from row 22 on RS, ch 25 st. Fasten off & cut yarn. Turn.
Row 2 with CC: Make slipknot. Sl st 1 in each ch from prev row, sc 1 in each sc from row 1, sl st 1 in each of the last ch from prev row.
Fasten off & cut yarn.
Finishing
Fasten threads & weave in ends.
