How To Crochet The Bum Bag Pattern

To crochet the daisy granny square bum bag, all you need to do is make 5 granny squares and 2 half daisy granny squares.

Then assemble them using the flat slip stitch join to avoid seaming, swap for the whip stitch using a yarn needle or choose your preferred way to attach granny squares together.

After assembling the granny squares, crochet the strap or belt.

The final touch is to attach two buttons for the adjustable strap.

Yarn For The Crochet Fanny Pack

The yarn used in the sample for this crochet pattern is a 4 medium yarn called Drops Loves You 5. Itโ€™s unfortunately discontinued, but you can substitute with any 4 medium yarn.

You can use any yarn fiber, like cotton, acrylic or wool blends.

To make it in different sizes, choose a thinner or thicker yarn and adjust the crochet hook size accordingly.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?

How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isnโ€™t a helpful answer is it?

Well, Iโ€™ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.

It will help you calculate exactly how much time youโ€™ll spend crocheting a project.

All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.

Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.ย

Stitches Used In The Crochet Pattern

In this crochet pattern you will useย chains, bobble,ย slip stitchesย andย single crochet stitches.

Bobble

*yarn over, pull up a loop from next st, yarn over and pull through 2 loops*, repeat from *to* 3 times (5 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all loops on the crochet hook.

Techniques Used In The Crochet Pattern

You will need to know how to change colors at the end of a row or round.

Changing color at the end of a row/round

When working with different colors on different rows, youโ€™ll never finish the last stitch on the last row with one color, with the color you where working with.

Do all the steps of the stitch, then leave the last step unworked. Yarn over with the color for the next st & pull yarn through.

Repeat this for every row you change colors to make the color changes look beautiful.
