How To Crochet The Lace Crochet Scarf
To crochet this lace scarf you are only going to know basic stitches, such as chains and double crochet. At the very beginning you will also need to know the foundation single crochet, however if you prefer starting with chains, that’s also possible.
The ripple effect are created by crocheting double crochets together to decrease stitches and by increasing the stitches again.
The lace are created by skipping stitches and working into the chain spaces from the previous row.
Yarn For The Ripple Stitch Crochet Scarf
This crochet project is a true one skein crochet project. The suggested yarn for this scarf crochet pattern is a self striping gradient yarn cake from Katia called Soleil.
The skein weights 200 g and has 750 m / 820 yards of yarn. You can easily swap for any other self striping yarn cakes with the same yardage.
If you opt for a thicker or thinner yarn weight, expect to crochet more or less rows and stitches to get the same sized crochet scarf.
The yarn is a cotton and acrylic blend, but you can easily swap for merino wool or other wool yarns for a warmer winter accessory.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?
How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?
Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.
It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.
All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.
Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.
