How To Crochet The Boomerang Shaped Shawl

The Boomerang Crochet Shawl is worked from the point, with increasing stitches each row.

By increasing multiple stitches on one side and a decrease of 1 stitch on the other side each row, you get a lovely shawl with boomerang shape.

The final row of the shawl will have the most amount of stitches and have the widest width.

The crochet stitches used in this crochet pattern are basic crochet stitches such as double crochet stitches and slip stitches.

Yarn For The Boomerang Shawl

To crochet this Boomerang Crochet Shawl the two suggested yarn colors actually are two different yarn weights. Filatura Di Crosa – Inca Print Baby Alpaca is classified as a 3 Light Yarn, while the Isager Alpaca 2 is a 1 Super Fine Yarn. While it’s classified differently they ended up matching in gauge pretty accurately.

When you choose the yarn you want to work with, the exact thickness isn’t so important, as you can make it bigger or smaller by adding and reducing rows. Just make sure the thickness matches the crochet hook well, so you get a soft crochet shawl that drapes well.

Anything form fingering weight yarn to dk weight yarn weight would look lovely.

The first color used is a lovely variegated yarn, while the second color is solid.

The shawl would also look great with a pretty self-striping yarn, gradient yarn or any solid single colored colorway.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?

How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?

Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.

It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.

All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yds or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.

Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.
