Today I’m bringing my most popular one skein crochet pattern to the blog, the Litus Beach Bag. This crochet pattern has been a paid pattern for about 2 years, but now you can get the free version right here.
The Litus Beach Bag is perfect for excursions to the beach (as the name suggests), but also works well as a market bag or project bag.
It’s quite natural that the bag stretches a little when you use it & that means you can fit all the beach essentials in the bag!

To make the Litus Beach Bag crochet pattern I used 1 skein of fabric yarn.
It’s the perfect material for a bag & is pretty sturdy!
THE PERFECT QUICK BAG CROCHET PROJECT
If you like quick crochet projects, this bag is the perfect pattern.
It can be made in just one sitting & it’s so much fun to make.
What I love the most about it is the fact that it can be used for all kinds of situations, such as going to the beach, shopping or to keep your crochet project in!
Since you like the Litus Beach Bag, these might interest you too?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CROCHET THAT?
How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?
Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.
It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.
All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.

TECHNIQUES YOU WILL NEED:
CROCHETING IN THE BACK LOOP:
This means that you will not crochet through the whole stitch as usual.
A typical stitch contains two loops. One in the front, nearest you, and another stitch in the back, furthest away from you. One is called the front loop (the one nearest you), the other one the back loop, the one furthest away from you. For this pattern you will crochet stitches through the back loop.
These stitches are abbreviated with BL in front of their regular abbreviation.
As an example, see the tutorial on single crochet stitches crocheted in the back loop here: https://joyofmotioncrochet.com/how-to-crochet-the-back-loop-single-crochet-stitch/
The Litus beach bag is crocheted from the bottom up, then the handles are crocheted directly on the bag.
