How To Crochet The Crochet Laundry Basket
The crochet laundry basket is crocheted from the bottom up.
First you will crochet a flat circle with single crochet stitches, where you increase stitches each round to get the size of the base you need.
Next you will crochet one round of back loop single crochet, to get a sharper edge between the base and the basket sides.
Finally the crochet basket is crocheted upwards in rounds without increasing stitches to form the basket sides.
The final step is to crochet handles by crocheting foundation single crochet stitches for the openings.
Yarn For The Crochet Basket
Crochet basket projects are often made with either tape yarn or t-shirt yarn to create a sturdy basket. If you don’t have thick cotton yarn, then using multiple strands of yarn can also be an option.
To make the crochet basket stiff, you’ll use a thinner crochet hook than what’s recommended for the yarn.
