Read pattern instructions carefully before beginning to make sure you understand everything. It might save you hours frogging your work & crocheting it again!
Make a swatch that measure at least 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches using the stitch the gauge is given for. If your swatch matches the gauge, you’re good to go. If the gauge is wrong, you might need to change your hook. Go up in crochet hook size if your stitches are smaller & go down in crochet hook size if your stitches are bigger. Instructions for the Christmas Tree CrochetOrnament
1st Branch:
Row 1: Ch 10 st. 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc in next ch. Ch 6 st, turn.
Row 2: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, tr 3 around the 2nd dc you did in row 1, tc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in the last ch.
Pull yarn through & cut yarn.
2nd Branch:
Row 3: Ch 4 st, sl st in the 3 middle tr from last row, ch 5 st, turn.
Row 4: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tc in the 3 sl st from last row, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch.
Pull yarn through & cut yarn.
3rd Branch:
Row 5: Ch 3 st, sl st in the 3 middle tr from last row, ch 4 st, turn.
Row 6: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in 1st sl st from last row, tr in 2nd sl st from last row, dc in 3rd sl st from last row, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch.
