Stitches You Will Need
Foundation Single Crochet Stitch (FSC)
Step 1: Ch 2 st.
Step 2: Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Yo and pull through first loop (making “chain”). Yo and pull through both loops on hook.
Step 3: Insert hook into prev“chain” you made (It should look like you go through a resemblance of a “normal” st, with 2 strands of yarn), pull up a loop, yo and pull through first loop (making “chain”). Yo and pull through both loops on hook.
Repeat step 3 until you’ve made enough stitches.
*2nd ch in step 1 makes 1 st, step 2 makes 1st & every time step 3 is repeated you make 1 st.
Front Loop Half Double Crochet (FLhdc)
Crocheted with the exact same steps as a normal half double crochet, however you’ll only insert the hook in the front loop of the stitch.
Techniques You Will Need
Crochet In The Third Loop On Half Double Crochet Stitches
A typical stitch contains two loops. One in the front, nearest you, and another loop in the back, furthest away from you. One is called the front loop (the one nearest you), the other one the back loop, the one furthest away from you.
When you’re crocheting half double crochet stitch you’re creating another loop, the third loop. This loop is created by the yarn over you make on each stitch.
When crocheting in rounds, this third loop is the loop furthest away from you, behind the two other loops (the front & back loop).
Instructions for the Crochet Tekstur Cowl
Crocheted in rounds.
Make 77 st using the FSC method, sl st in 1st st.
Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as 1st st), hdc 1 in the next 76 st, sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round (=77 st).
Round 2: Ch 2 ( counts as 1st st), PM in 2nd ch, *FLhdc 1 in next st, hdc 1 in 3rd loop in next st*, repeat from *to* until you reach PM, do not end round (=77 st).
FLhdc in ch, PM.
Work following rounds:
*FLhdc, hdc in 3rd loop*, repeat from *to* until cowl measures 16 cm / 6.3 inches, you have crocheted 13 rounds or you reach desired length.
FLhdc stitches will be worked in hdc in 3rd loop stitches and vice versa.
Round 14: Hdc 1 in next st, PM, hdc in all stitches from previous round, sl st in st with PM.
Fasten off & cut yarn.
Finishing
Fasten threads & weave in ends.
