This crochet stitch is a great beginner friendly lace stitch combination, using only basic crochet stitches such as chains and double crochet stitches. The stitch combination creates a beautiful v-stitch pattern, where the stitches creates a v shape.

- One V stitch is : 1 double crochet, 1 chain and 1 double crochet into same chain or space.
- The V stitch is often abbreviated: (dc, ch 1, dc) in designated ch-space.
- One V-stitch makes 1 ch-1-space

Written instructions
Chain a multiple of 3 + 1 stitches.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, *sk 2, dc 1 in next st, ch 1, dc 1 in same as last dc*, repeat from *to* until end of row, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc + ch 1), dc in first ch-space, *dc 1 in next ch-space, ch 1, dc 1 in same ch-space*, repeat from *to* until end of row, turn.
Repeat row 2 until project is desired size.

Step 1: Chain a multiple of 3 + 1
Create a foundation chain with a multiple of 3 + 1 stitch.
Step 2: Double crochet in 4th chain
Row 1: Double crochet in 4th chain from hook.
Step 3: Skip 2, double crochet in next
Row 1 cont: *Skip 2 stitches, double crochet in next stitch,
Step 4: Chain 1, double crochet in same
Row 1 cont.: chain 1, double crochet in same stitch as previous double crochet*,
Step 5: Repeat step 3-4 until end of row
Row 1 cont: Repeat from *to* until end of the row. Note: Each repeat is 1 V st. You have now finished the first row.
Step 6: Start row 2
Row 2: Chain 3, the turning chain counts as 1 double crochet and 1 chain.
Step 7: Work first V-stitch
Row 2 cont.: Double crochet in first chain space. Note: The 3 chains + 1 double crochet counts as the first V Stitch. You will work the final V stitch into this chain space on next row, not the top of the turning chain.
Step 8: Start second V-stitch
Row 2 cont.: *double crochet in next chain space,
Step 9: Finish second V-stitch
Row 2 cont.: Turn ch 1, double crochet in same chain space from previous row*
Step 10: Finish row 2
Row 2 cont.: Repeat from *to* until end of round. Each repeat creates 1 chain space. Each repeat also creates 1 V stitch.
Repeat second row until project is desired size.
