The Yarn
I used Loops and Thread Impeccable yarn for this project. It is a wonderfully versatile yarn that is not just perfect for ponchos. You can use Impeccable yarn for making afghans, sweaters, hats and scarves as well. I love this yarn for its soft feel and how it comes in so many colours.
It is an easy to work with 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn and it really shows off the rich texture created by the herringbone stitch . It is an excellent yarn for many types of crochet projects.
ABOUT THE HERRINGBONE PONCHO
This poncho pattern is great for beginners as there is no edging at the neck or bottom. I love the simplicity of the finish. Adding the fringe is also optional, but I just love fringes.
Ponchos are so on trend right now. You can make the Herringbone Poncho with your choice of worsted weight yarn, either acrylic, wool or cotton, just look for the number (4) on the yarn label.
This poncho is perfect for any season as it is meant for layering and creating your own look. To wear it in summer just pop it on over a t shirt, and in winter add it over a warm sweater for extra coziness.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?
How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?
Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.
It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.
All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.
