The Silene Scarf - FREE Crochet Pattern

The Silene Scarf – FREE Crochet Pattern

The Silene scarf is a triangle scarf or shawl made in one piece with lots of alternating patterns and textures to make it both fun to wear and fun to make! The stitches are mainly different arrangements of double crochet in a repeating pattern, and the steps are written in such a way that you won’t have to count hundreds of stitches!

Poudreuse Wrap - FREE Crochet Pattern

Poudreuse Wrap – FREE Crochet Pattern

Poudreuse means powder snow in French. That’s what this wrap reminds me of. The yarn is so light and fluffy and the very light blue color is nearly the blue of ice in the mountains.

The poudreuse wrap is an easy biased wrap in 2 yarn colors. Only simple stitches are used as well as the bead stitch for some added texture and just a little twist (fully explained below don’t worry).

You can wear it as a wrap on your shoulders or as a giant scarf. The simple, yet elegant designs dresses up any outfit in no time.

Oakley Jumper Dress - FREE Crochet Pattern

Oakley Jumper Dress – FREE Crochet Pattern

My wardrobe is full of jumper dresses, I love them!  So I thought I’d design one.  I also love texture and stripes, so I have incorporated both into this crochet raglan garment design.

The yoke and sleeves have a ribbed texture and the body consists of stripes and a bumpy texture, made from alternating double crochets and slip stitches.  The possibilities are endless with this dress, the body could be one solid colour or blocks of colour!

Savannah Ear Warmer - FREE Crochet Pattern

Savannah Ear Warmer – FREE Crochet Pattern

I created the Savannah Ear Warmer driving south on I-95 back to my home in sunny Florida.   The moment I finished the first ear warmer, I looked up and saw the exit sign for Savannah and knew I had my pattern name.

This pattern has a fun, unique texture using reverse single crochets (revsc) and looks great in any yarn!

Rustic Ridges Sweater - FREE Crochet Pattern

Rustic Ridges Sweater – FREE Crochet Pattern

I’m so happy to present you the Rustic Ridges Sweater! I designed this sweater with simplicity in mind. I wanted my design to be size inclusive, beginner friendly and with a modern shape. I decided to use HDC as main stitch, in order to be as simple as possible and fast to make (because who doesn’t like quick garments to make in a weekend or so and to wear immediately after??). To give a different look at the sweater, I decided to alternate rows of HDC and HDC FLO (front loop only): this creates the lines in relief and gives the sweater a cozy and modern look.

Crochet Twist & Stripe Hat - FREE Crochet Pattern

Crochet Twist & Stripe Hat – FREE Crochet Pattern

You’re going to love the crochet Twist & Stripe Hat, because it’s such a great crochet hat for fall.

What’s so great about the crochet Twist & Stripe Hat, is the fact that it is easy to adjust to size to fit anyone from kids to adult.

This crochet beanie is rather quick to make & it’s also offers a great fit due to the short row technique used. Sounds difficult? It’s not as hard as it might sound.

Color Block T-top - FREE Crochet Pattern

Color Block T-top – FREE Crochet Pattern

Fall is right around the corner and I know you’re looking forward to the colder weather just as much as I am! I love making lacy openwork garments and accessories in the summer, but the thought of fall/winter weather crochet always makes me especially excited.

That’s why I’m so happy to present my newest design on joyofmotioncrochet.com which is such a wonderful platform to show off my color-block T- top.If you’re looking for a new project for fall, you can’t go wrong with a quick and simple design the the color-block T-top which is made of mostly hdc stitches and requires very little seaming.

This pattern uses Lion Brands jeans yarn, a soft, squishy affordable acrylic that works great for garments and is available in a beautiful selection of trendy and classic colors.

This design starts with creating the wide ribbed bottom border with back loop only single crochet stitches. This band is stretchy and hugs the body, creating a beautiful shape to the top. The rest of the top is simply added on to the bottom band.

The sleeves are worked as extensions of the upper body and are worked in easy hdc rows back and forth. Add the pretty borders at the sleeves and your T-top is done! If you have a few crocheted garments under your belt or are a confident beginner, you can tackle this T-top!

Livenza Scarf - FREE Crochet Pattern

Livenza Scarf – FREE Crochet Pattern

Livenza – the crystal clear, spring fed river rippling through Polcenigo, Italy. The quiet murmer of waters whisper of by-gone days when the palace on the hill bustled, of its slow decline into historic ruins, of horse drawn carriages exchanged for gasoline powered vehicles.

Livenza – the delicate braid stitch featured on this designs ripples across the scarf as that sparkling river ripples through history. Comprised mainly of simply stitches (hdc and tr), this pattern is all about that rippling texture created by the braids. It works up quickly and easily – a peaceful project for the intermediate crocheter. As peaceful as a slow-moving river!

Cozy Campfire Striped Hoodie - FREE Crochet Pattern

Cozy Campfire Striped Hoodie – FREE Crochet Pattern

I am so happy to be sharing my newest sweater crochet pattern with the Joy of Motion community today.  🙂    My idea for this design was to create a hoodie sweater that is both super comfy and stylish.

When I finished the design, my daughters and I felt it reminded us of that warm and cozy hoodie you’d grab on those cool autumn evenings in front of the campfire – thus, the Cozy Campfire Striped Hoodie was born!  It’s available in sizes XS-L and it’s beginner-friendly.

You can also find the sizes XL-3XL in the new PDF version of the pattern.
