How to Front Post Double Crochet

Tutorial Made By Janne Kleivset for Joy of Motion Crochet joyofmotioncrochet.com

It's just 9 steps

With these 9 simple steps, you'll be able to create textured crochet pieces in no time! You'll find that it's quite similar to the regular double crochet!  --->

1

To start the front post double crochet, yarn over from back to front.  This part is the same as with a regular double crochet stitch!

Insert crochet hook between the first and second stitch from front to back.  Find the gap between the stitches.

2

Between the next two stitches, insert the crochet hook from back to front.  Again, find the gap between the stitches.

3

Place the yarn over the crochet hook from back to front.  Getting this right may feel difficult when learning, but will become easier.

4

5

Pull up a loop, you have 3 loops on the crochet hook.  This was the hardest part, the rest is easy!

The last steps are the same as a regular double crochet - nothing complex or confusing. Yarn over from back to front.

6

Pull yarn through 2 loops.  You can see how these last few steps are the same as a regular double crochet stitch.

7

Yarn over from back to front.  Just 1 more step before the FPdc is finished! Then rinse and repeat for another stitch!

8

Pull yarn through the last 2 loops on the crochet hook. Repeat steps 1-9 to crochet more FPdc stitches.
