Do you want to learn how to crochet the two double crochet stitch cluster? You’re on the right place. This crochet stitch makes a really lovely result in any crochet project. I know it as the two double crochet stitch cluster, however it may be known under other names. It almost only contain double crochet stitches, which makes it easy to learn.

If you have bought one of my crochet patterns, you might wonder how the two double crochet stitch cluster is made. The pattern always offers written text in addition to charts, however here I will share a step by step picture guide with you. Finally there is a video of how to crochet this stitch on the bottom.

To follow this crochet tutorial you’ll need a crochet hook. When I crochet I usually use 2 types of crochet hooks. I’ve listed them below:

HOW TO CROCHET THE TWO DOUBLE CROCHET STITCH CLUSTER – PICTURE GUIDE:


1. How to start:

Since the purpose of this post is to learn the stitch I suggest that you start by making a small test square:

1. Chain 12 stitches, turn.

2. Single Crochet along chain row, turn.

Then you are ready to start the “two double crochet stitch cluster”!

2.  Chain 3 stitches

Start the row by chain 3.

3. Yarn over

 Yarn over from back to front.

4. Insert crochet hook in next stitch

Insert crochet hook in next stitch, ready to draw up a loop.

5. Draw up a loop

Draw up a loop from next stitch.

You now have 3 “loops” on the hook.

6. Yarn over

Yarn over from back to front.

7. Work through 2 loops

 Work through 2 “loops” on the hook.

You now have 2 “loops” on the hook.

8. Yarn over

Yarn over from back to front.

9. Draw up a loop from same stitch

Draw up a “loop” from the same stitch.

You now have 4 “loops” on the hook.

10. Yarn over

Yarn over from back to front.

11. Work through 2 loops

Pull yarn through 2 “loops”.

You now have 3 “loops” on the hook.

12. Yarn over

Yarn over from back to front.

13. Work through 3 loops

Pull yarn through all “loops” on the hook.

You now have 1 “loop” on the hook.

You have finished a “two double crochet stitch cluster”.

Repeat 3-12 until the end of the row.

Start the rows with chain 3.

HOW TO CROCHET THE TWO DOUBLE CROCHET STITCH CLUSTER- WRITTEN DESCRIPTION:


Two double crochet stitch cluster:

DDCS = yarn over, draw up a loop, yarn over, work through 2 loops, yarn over, draw up a loop from same stitch, yarn over, work through 2 loops, yarn over, work through 3 loops.
