The Yarn

To crochet and design this crochet shawl I used cotton yarn from Ice yarns. What’s great about this type of yarn is that there’s so many similar cotton yarns that can be used.

It’s a Sport weight, 2 fine yarn & comes in many beautiful colors.

This shawl could also be made with thicker yarn & only 1 strand of yarn if you prefer.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?

How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?

Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.

It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.

All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.

Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.

TWO TREBLE CROCHET STITCH CLUSTER MADE IN 2 stitches (modified DTCS):

This is essentially worked the same way as tr2tog, made in 2 half double crochet stitches in this pattern.

Written description:

yo 2 times, in the next st, draw up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through 2 loop, yo 2 times, in the next stitch, draw up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through 2 loop, yo, pull through the last 3 loops on the hook.

START STITCH:

This stitch counts as 1 st.

Written description:

Ch 2, tr 1 in the next st.

Techniques You Will Need

CHANGING COLOR WITH DIFFERENT COLOR ON DIFFERENT ROWS:

When working with different colors on different rows, you’ll never finish the last stitch on the last row with one color, with the color you where working with.

Do all the steps of the stitch, then leave the last step unworked. Yarn over with the color for the next st & pull yarn through.

Repeat this for every row you change colors to make the color changes look beautiful.
